This is an example of my work recording a band with one stationary camera and a feed from the board. (I had no choice but a board mix this night.Im not selling board mixes as quality because you almost never get this good a mix)  I went back to my editing station, did what I could with the board mix to brighten it up without making it sound un-natural and combined the two.  I had no control over the lighting in this place. This is one of those situations where the soundman could only provide me with a less than optimal line to record. We still got good sound even with a 13 piece band.

 I have eliminated the problem we had that night and now capture all instruments seperatly.
